Damn, what a ride. Didn't consider her to be the dead one for even a second, but I'm glad that most of the likable characters survived the whole ordeal.

Still, I'm not going to forget that very random daydream of Misaki and Kouichi dancing. Hope they had a happy future after all this tragedy. Really bittersweet story overall.

ship <3

I got spoiled that Reiko will die but never knew that she'll be the dead among them as it was never revealed before that Ms. Mikami and Reiko are the same person lol guess there were many hints as the grandfather was lamenting for both Ritsuko which I understood was dead but also for Reiko which kinda seemed strange to me so in the end I kinda had doubts that maybe Reiko is the dead, but as I got spoiled I was like no she'll die at some point so it's not her.

1:59 Multi-kill lol that was kinda funny to me sorry Ik I'm horrible😂

zetina • 2 years ago

To think Mei was in perfect position to prevent the tragedies the whole time. She coulda killed Reiko in secret and no one would ever have known. Feels like she shouldn't have had that power, story-wise. The detangle of everything was satisfying at the end when stuff fell into place though. A shock/mystery thing for fun overall, nothing much to think deeply about except have fun, and fun I did have. Though the characters being cRaZy at the end is just kinda dull to me.

Doppelganger • 2 years ago

Tbf they only recently found out how to stop it mid way, she couldnt really have done anything.

Aka Inu • 2 years ago

Yeah, she didn't know how to stop the calamity until hearing it from tape in the last episodes. Even if she had known earlier, it's not easy to kill someone.

tbschen • 1 year ago

So how many unnecessary deaths have happened after the tape?

Aka Inu • 1 year ago

Okay. You get Bin Ladin or whoever is INDIRECTLY causing great grief to your people in front of you tied, as well as a firearm (not even something you need to cut or break something from the body with much effort like her, because she had no mean to get hands on a firearm) and you can shoot that person. I would like to see you do that without hesitation and internal questioning. Of course, you could be killing people on a daily basis, I don't know, but the average person wouldn't be able to.

tbschen • 1 year ago

I didn't say she would have to kill her (though eyepatch girl seemed pretty determined in the backyard with the pickaxe). I do expect her to share valuable information ASAP with people she trusts though, so people can discuss things while still being calm and collected.

Honestly, what options are there. Either kill the extra as soon as possible or do nothing and wait until the extra disappears at the end of the school year, but also causing like another dozen of deaths, possibly including yourself.

Also I sure hope that she kills every extra in the following years. She has the special anime power to do so and should take responsibility.

The premise is stupid anyways. What school would keep their third class if they knew students have a high chance of dying. And what parents would voluntarily put their kids into the third class...

Ken C Nuñez • 10 months ago

look she said in the previous ep before finding the 100% counter calamity "Tape" that she never remove her eyepatch at school but she said in the previous episode during this school trip that she always know who it is "might because she is always in the library and also did some investigation for example the photo "school photo book" for every generation means she never verify removing her eyepatch to know its Reiko their teacher but she knows its her because of her school picture but she only think of it as someone who's going to die soon or is very sick since they gave the same color. That's why she ask for the original photo of the 1st gen which started it with some of MC's mother and aunt's photo from childhood to adulthood which is all gave the same color with the 1st gen photo that's why she finally connect everything and know who's the real but be she doesn't like the idea of killing someone but later force to do so since she saw her classmate killing each other while the calamity is being trigged in the same time... so she decided to ended it all but MC takes the responsibility since he doesn't want mei to do the dirty work. TBH the main cause of the killing spree is the idiot duo the guy who 1st attempt to end it but failed as a result it triggered the guy to kill another 2 classmate, while the gay guy showed the tape recorder to the head of countermeasure as a result her room mate made a killing spree actually she even beat the murderer who is under the influence of the calamity then oguro and the crazy girl died a natural death via accident LOL which they deserve and the rest who tried to hunt mei died via the calamity including the head of countermeasure BS girl who clearly try to kill due to jealousy.

Aka Inu • 1 year ago

Ah okay, that's what you meant. Yeah, she definitely should have shared the info.
As for the premise, I'll just stay in my suspense of denial, else I would be acknowleding I wasted my time. (what I did anyway, but at least I could say it was worth it)

cristian Ion • 1 year ago

She didn't know killing her would help. That's what the tape said!

Still confused why that lady attacked the kids. Did being a cook person for class give her the curse or sum?

Welp I thought it would be the MC but Mei wouldnt just say anything
I also thought it would be akazawa

Aka Inu • 2 years ago

The "cook" and her husband, the place manager, were a student's (Takibayashi) grandparents. The old teacher (Chibiki?) or librarian told Koichi and Mei at the cemetery that those grandparents grew emotionally unstable after their grandson's death. In other words, because of anime logic (?), the grieved grandmother decided to avenge her grandson by killing his classmates. I assume her husband opposed it and in a fight she killed him and the fire was started.

Aditya Kaneki • 2 years ago

That's quite satisfiable as an anime logic, thanks 🙂

Lumi • 2 years ago

im confused too

RandomPerson • 2 years ago

Last Episode Summary:
Emotional instability increases as the game of amongus ends with a lot of deaths with the true imposter being the one you may have least expectedunless you suspected the correct person or are rewatching the series

skipsi • 2 years ago

Yo, theres a little bit at the end of the credits where they hide another tape for the next class 3 if you wanna check it out. ;)

Himahara • 2 years ago

Sad and romantic

sudowudo • 2 years ago

The last 2 episodes of this anime kind of ruined it for me. Seemed like a random slaughter fest. And Mei could of spoke up on who she knew it was, especially after being one of the first ones to listen to the tape.

Vanitas • 2 years ago

One of the most underrated animes out there,I wish the story had something more to it

The biggest plot twist was not Ms. Mikami being the dead person but Ms. Mikami and Reiko being the same person.

True lol

Niko-kun • 2 years ago

Before I say anything else lemme say that I’m freaking depressed that Akazawa died that was so sad and I really really liked her… And for a moment I was sure she was the extra one too but apparently not…

Ryu(神竜) • 11 months ago

The ending was a bit unexpected but still what a ride it has been!
either way it was fun and enjoyable.
I still remember that day dream of Misaki and Kouichi dancing, well maybe another day, another time it happens in reality, maybe not.

Testarossa • 1 year ago

Hey the author forgot the shipment for both MC Sakakibara and Mei marry scene ? Hahaa I'm not joking tho

YOSHIDA MAN • 2 years ago

So secret wasn't secret all along. I mean grandfather at some point said that "my poor Reiko". They twisted us really good.

Guest • 2 years ago

No way I would've taken that into account lol,it was like the first 5 minutes and I had no idea who Reiko is

Mr.Nobody • 2 years ago

Yeah

isuro • 2 years ago

Ok. So Koichi Sakakibara doesn't remember what happend one and half years ago cause at that time he came for Reiko Mikami funeral & in present time as Reiko is the dead person, his memory altered? like perfect fit in jigsaw puzzel.

Arnold LAKES ADLER • 2 years ago

How a person can die twice when it has originally happened one and half years ago that makes me no sense. Was Reiki Mikami faked her death with someone? To be honest I didn't expect Reiko turn into culprit in the end, I started to like her she seemed to me so innocent until final episode. And things happend. Rip her and all soul has been dead. Happy ending with misaki

isuro • 2 years ago

That must be something to do with her Older sister, I mean Sakakibara's mom. Something might have happend 26 years ago between that ghost Misaki and her, maybe that tiggred the curse into Reiko. I had an uneasy feeling on that perticular scene where Misaki saw that killer and that killer gave her a smile. looks like a revenge or something. Don't know, to much twisted and uncleared. May be new season will clear this. That means it will never happen. XD

Niko-kun • 2 years ago

That plot twist was a great one with Mikami being the aunt and all but for real if you observe Mikami it made perfect sense for her to be the one. Someone had predicted it in the earlier episodes and I started suspecting her too but still it was a great mystery plot. The story in and of itself and the delivery with all of the sound effects and creepy songs was great too and it made for a really immersive experience. VAs were brilliant as well and the animation is still pretty smooth for a watch in 2022. The main cast was likeable and their points of breakage felt justified despite the whole student body going crazy at the end but if you look at it subjectively they’ve all been through some horrendous shit. The horror was well-placed and truly spooky at times with the director doing a hell of a job at points. Anyway for a 12-episode anime I believe it did everything right. Pacing, conclusion and quality. Also, despite its looks it also had a really solid MC who I thought would be a total wuss from the cover and all. Yeah I’d give it a 8.5/10

She was the only one I completely forgot about damn

SexyCurry • 9 months ago

I like how the story progresses and the way they cut the scenes of certain episodes to hide the important elements of the story when it's being discussed.
When I first watched this series, I always suspected that "Reiko" is already dead because of his "Gramps" and somehow she is connected to "Class 3" but at the same time, I also don't know how to connect her to "Class 3". I also want to see the progress of Romance between Sakaki and Mei in the end but I think that's too much to ask for.
Overall, this is a good series for Mystery/Horror/Thriller anime. 8.5/10

Man, I love this anime. I get that sometimes you really have to suspend your disbelief for a plot device to work, but ultimately I think it does a good job in making you scared or at the very least tense. This is my second time watching it in years, as such, I feel I can be more objective with it.
In the comments a lot of people criticise the characters being stupid or irrational, however, I think that when it comes to certain characters their mental instability makes a lot of sense, specifically the characters that have seen other people die, and considering what happened to their teacher, I think it's fair enough. Also, I think some people forget how the curse is also able to change/affect people's memories, I don't think it's that uncalled for that the MC would forget the events a year and a half ago. In addition to that, I think the MC did a really good job asking questions and not just blindly following orders and sitting still, that was a nice change of pace considering how passive other MC's tend to be. Putting that aside, the reason why a lot of the characters went insane in the last two episodes, I believe, is because of the curse affecting them; If it could affect people's memories and bring someone back to life, why wouldn't it be able to change people's mental states?

Either way, it was a good watch. I give it an 8.5/10. Also, Kouichi and Mei together are fucking adorable and I hope they have a long and bright future together.

Rengoku • 1 year ago

Finished 8-1-23. 8.5/10 anime story was decent, it gave me horror vibe but was not enough to scare me. Characters were dumb and annoying fr. I really suspected ms Mikami but never suspected Reiko well happy to see the mc and Misaki together in end
